SAN ANTONIO (AP) - Denzel Livingston had 20 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals on Thursday night to lead Incarnate Word over Sam Houston State 85-74.

Incarnate Word’s victory ended Sam Houston’s four-game winning streak and pulled the Cardinals even with the Bearkats in the Southland Conference loss column with two each.

Kyle Hittle added 16 for Incarnate Word (15-3, 3-2), which closed the first half on an 11-3 run to take a 40-34 advantage into the break.

Sam Burmeister’s jumper with 11:38 left capped an 11-4 run that extended the Cardinals advantage to 57-47, and they took their largest lead of the night at 69-53 with 7:13 left. Sam Houston (13-6, 5-2) never got closer than nine after that.

Anthony Horton and Mitchell Badillo each had 14 for the Cardinals, and Burmeister added 13.

James Thomas had 18 points and Jabari Peters added 16 for the Bearkats, which shot 41.8 percent.
