BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A 27-year-old Billings man has pleaded not guilty to deliberate homicide in the Jan. 3 shooting death of a Lockwood man.

Martin Jon Pond Jr. is charged with shooting 52-year-old Douglas Alderman during a fight outside Alderman’s residence. Pond appeared in District Court Thursday, where he also denied charges of tampering with evidence and intimidation.

Prosecutors say 42-year-old Cody Mack Jr. and his girlfriend Katrina Edens drove Pond to Alderman’s house so he could “settle things” with his ex-wife and Alderman, who were together at the residence.

Prosecutors say Pond washed his bloody clothes at Cody Mack’s residence and fled in Calvin Mack’s van.

Cody Mack Jr. pleaded not guilty to obstructing justice and tampering with evidence on Thursday while Edens and Mack’s 19-year-old son Calvin denied charges of accountability to obstructing justice.
