ASHEVILLE, N.C. (AP) - QJ Peterson scored 37 points and Rodney Glasgow added 35 as Virginia Military Institute hit the century mark for the sixth time this season, beating UNC Asheville 109-105 on Tuesday.

VMI, the nation’s top-scoring team at 87.9 points per game, was coming off a loss to Winthrop in which it scored just 57 points.

Peterson made 13 of 22 shots and grabbed 15 rebounds for VMI (11-9, 4-3 Big South Conference) in an up-and-down affair. Glasgow made five 3-pointers and had 10 assists for the Keydets.

Asheville (10-11, 4-3) went over 100 points for the first time this season and is now 5-1 all time when hitting triple digits. Andrew Rowsey made four 3-pointers en route to 35 points and Jaron Lane added 27 and 15 boards.

Weather conditions forced UNC Asheville to cancel classes and move the start of the game up about an hour.
