Celtic opens 18-point gap in Scottish league

GLASGOW, Scotland (AP) - Celtic extended its unbeaten run in the Scottish League to 23 matches with a 4-0 win over Kilmarnock on Wednesday to move 18 points clear at the top of the standings.

Midfielder Joe Ledley opened the scoring in the 11th minute with an angled shot before defender Lee Ashcroft scored an own goal from James Forrest’s cross.

Midfielder Charlie Mulgrew grabbed a third in the 67th minute before substitute Amido Balde added a fourth in injury time.

In Wednesday’s other game, Jamie Hamill’s winner from the penalty spot gave Hearts a 2-1 win over 10-man St Mirren.
