Former President Jimmy Carter’s upcoming book is being billed as a tome of women’s rights — “A Call To Action: Women, Religion, Violence, and Power” — and it’s due for publication March 25.

Simon & Schuster announced the book as Mr. Carter’s personal observations during his travels around the world, The Associated Press reported. He noted a number of abuses against women and girls, as well as the religious beliefs that justified such abuses, he said. And he mentions them all in his latest book.

This isn’t the first literary work from Mr. Carter. Since leaving the White House in 1981, he’s written memoirs and poetry, and one particularly controversial book about the Middle East titled, “Palestine: Peace Not Apartheid.”
