Sen. Tom Coburn said President Obama has "abandoned truth" during a Tuesday morning appearance on "Fox and Friends."

"I think we've abandoned truth in Washington," the Oklahoma Republican said. "The president has abandoned truth. They're deceitful in what they speak, often times whether it's the rollout of Obamacare or any other subject. They're not truthful."

The nation is spending $30 billion on job programs "that don't work," he said, according to The Hill. The White House is trying to spin that anybody who contests that spending is not compassionate, and actually opposed to using government to help people, he said.

"There's not much reality coming out of Washington," he said. "There's a whole lot of political spin."
