STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State University assistant track and field coach Diego Flaquer has been named the sprints coach for the Colombian national team at the IAAF World Junior Track and Field Championships.

Flaquer, who is entering his second season as the OSU sprints coach, will coach the Colombian men’s and women’s sprinters at the event, scheduled Tuesday through Sunday in Eugene, Oregon.

In Flaquer’s first year at OSU, the Cowboys had one of their best sprint seasons in recent memory.

Under his guidance, Tyreek Hill set school records in the indoor 60 meters and 200 meters, claiming the conference title in the 200 and finishing as runner up in the 60.

He was joined as an indoor All-Big 12 performer by John Teeters.
