PULASKI, N.Y. (AP) - A 29-year-old upstate New York man has been charged with manslaughter in connection with a vehicle crash that killed his older brother.

Casey Billings, who originally was charged with DWI, also faces an attempted burglary charge as a result of the fatal accident in early May that took the life of 41-year-old Christopher Billings.

State police say Christopher Billings was a passenger in a Ford pickup truck driven by his brother as they fled after attempting to break into a drug store in Mexico, New York.

Troopers say the pickup traveled off the west shoulder of a two-lane highway, traversed a large ditch, and struck two utility pole guard wires and two trees.

Casey Billings was arraigned in Town of Hastings Court and released to appear at a later date.
