LOUISVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Louisville says that sophomore forward Akoy Agau will miss six weeks following surgery to repair a sports hernia.

Agau, a reserve who had 17 points, 21 rebounds and five blocks in 19 games for the Cardinals last season, sustained the injury while working out three weeks ago. Louisville coach Rick Pitino said earlier this summer that the 6-foot-8 native of Omaha, Nebraska, had improved and is expected to contribute more this season.

Agau underwent surgery Tuesday morning in Philadelphia.
