GRAND RIVERS, Ky. (AP) - Officials have scaled back a search for a doctor who wandered away from his western Kentucky home after three days searching without turning up any sign of him.

Livingston County Emergency Management Deputy Director Kenny Vincent says crews have searched 3,764 square acres and 12 miles of shoreline twice between Thursday and Friday in an attempt to find 60-year-old John P. Lyles. Lyles left his home in Grand Rivers on Wednesday without medication that Vincent described as “extremely important” to his health.

Vincent told The Paducah Sun (http://bit.ly/1m2RUmz ) the search resumed Saturday, but was limited to emergency responders. Volunteers were asked not to join.

Vincent is hopeful the high amount of traffic around Lake Barkley, Kentucky Lake and area waterways over the weekend will aid in the search for Lyles.
