CASPER, Wyo. (AP) - The Wyoming Department of Transportation is scheduled to hold a public meeting in Casper to hear ideas about how to improve freight transportation in the state.

Ed Fritz, a policy and planning analyst with WYDOT, tells The Casper Star-Tribune (http://bit.ly/1pSARXL ) Wednesday’s meeting is aimed at eventually creating a statewide freight plan to identify transportation problems.

Possible projects are still vague since the process has just begun, but Fritz says they might include identifying bridges that could be raised to allow larger loads to pass or fixing areas that right now require trucks to reroute somewhere slower.

The plan will also become a focal point for all statewide freight routes and issues.
