Mo Elleithee, communications director for the Democratic National Committee, said Tuesday that Republicans are politicizing the Benghazi attack to stir up voters for the midterm elections.

“This is simply an elaborate and crass get out the vote mechanism for Republicans heading into a midterm election to fire up their base and it’s sad,” he said on CNN.

Looking ahead to the 2016 elections, Mr. Eleleithee said he is “very confident” that the Democratic party has several candidates other than Hillary Rodham Clinton who could defeat any of the Republicans that may run for president.

Kirsten Kukowski, communications director for the Republican National Committee, said Democrats are “all in on Hillary” and she doesn’t see another possible candidate emerging. She thinks Benghazi will be an issue for the former secretary of state.

“I think that’s going to continue to be a problem for Hillary,” she said.
