JUNEAU, Alaska (AP) - There will be a pause this week on a Juneau construction project.

KTOO reports (http://is.gd/3pVwDj) the $1.4 million project to replace the roof at Juneau’s Centennial Hall Convention Center is in the early stages.

But work will take a break this week’s for the Celebration festival being conducted by Sealaska Heritage Institute.

But once that’s over, crews will start up work again. City and Borough of Juneau Project Manager Theresa Mores says they would like the work done by August to avoid snow and Taku winds.

It’s the first roof replacement project for the 31-year-old convention center in downtown Juneau.
