SALT LAKE CITY (AP) - A teenage girl charged with aggravated murder in a Utah crime spree that claimed the lives of a deputy and her boyfriend wants her case moved.

Megan Grunwald’s attorneys argue in a new filing this week that the inundation of media coverage painting the deputy as a hero makes it unlikely she would get a fair trial in Utah County.

Lawyers for the 17-year-old Grunwald want the case moved to the Salt Lake City suburb of West Jordan where they say a jury unaware of the incident could be found.

Prosecutors say Grunwald was driving on Jan. 30 when she and her boyfriend Jose Garcia-Jauregui went on a 50-mile crime spree in which Utah County sheriff’s Sgt. Cory Wride was killed and deputy Greg Sherwood was wounded.
