DETROIT (AP) - Authorities have identified a 16-year-old bystander shot to death on a Detroit street after the owner of a music store fired a gun at a suspected robber.

The Wayne County medical examiner’s office says Senghore Ball was shot in the head.

Police say the shop owner shot at a man Friday inside the store on the city’s northwest side. The man ducked and the slug smashed through a window and striking Ball, who was standing outside on the sidewalk.

The store owner has a valid concealed pistol license. The Detroit Free Press reports he was arrested Friday but later released pending the issuance of a warrant.
