DECATUR, Ala. (AP) - Alabama public health officials believe almost 20 people got sick after a chicken dinner at a Morgan County church.

State Epidemiologist Mary McIntyre tells Al.com that her office also is investigating whether one person died after the May 30 meal (http://bit.ly/1qqbARG ). McIntyre says 19 people reported symptoms of illness, and two or three tested positive for E. coli or salmonella.

The state health department is working with the Morgan County Health Department to gather stool samples and test them. McIntyre says the state learned of the suspected outbreak this week.
