NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - The Governor’s Environmental Stewardship Awards ceremony will be held Monday in Nashville.

The awards recognize voluntary actions that improve or protect the environment and natural resources with projects or initiatives not required by law or regulation.

In its 28th year, this year’s awards program covers nine categories that include Building Green; Clean Air, Energy and Renewable Resources; Environmental Education and Outreach; Land Use; and Materials Management.

The event is scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. and will be held at the Ellington Agricultural Center.
