JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) - Arkansas State University track athlete Sharika Nelvis has been named as one of 10 semifinalists for the Women’s Bowerman Trophy that is presented to the nation’s top female collegiate track and field athlete.

Nelvis is the 2014 NCAA outdoor champion in the 100-meter hurdles and the indoor champion in the 60-meter hurdles.

The trophy is named for Oregon track and field and cross country coach Bill Bowerman and is awarded annually to the most outstanding male and female collegiate track and field athletes in the nation.

The 10 semifinalists will be reduced to three finalists on July 10 and the winner will be announced Dec. 17.
