ABBEVILLE, Ala. (AP) - Auburn defensive back Jonathon Mincy has been charged with second-degree possession of marijuana.

A Henry County Sheriff’s Department official said Saturday that Mincy was arrested early Friday evening after the car he was riding in was pulled over for speeding on Highway 431 near Abbeville. Mincy has been released on bond.

Auburn spokesman Kirk Sampson said the school had no immediate comment regarding Mincy’s arrest.

The cornerback had 56 tackles and was second on the team with 14 pass breakups last season. Mincy has 29 career starts.

The charge is a misdemeanor involving possession of marijuana for personal use.
