LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) - A photo exhibit about the children of Danish immigrants is on display at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln’s Love Library through July 31.
The exhibit is titled “Danish Children Growing up American” and features 50 large photos depicting different aspects of a child’s life in the 19th and 20th centuries. The exhibit brochure says Danish immigrants placed a lot of emphasis on their children, who they saw as the true beneficiaries of the American dream and a better life.
This exhibit is free and may be viewed during Love Library’s open hours, which are 7:30 a.m.-11 p.m. Monday-Thursday, 7:30 a.m.-8 p.m. on Fridays, 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays and noon-11 p.m. on Sundays.
