DONALDSONVILLE, La. (AP) - Visitors to the city’s website soon will be able to view minutes from City Council meetings and take a video tour of the seat of Ascension Parish.

The City Council has accepted a bid from the firm MCCI to scan the city’s archived government meeting minutes, and to begin digitizing current meeting minutes.

The Advocate reports (http://bit.ly/1wASFpU ) the city would pay about $8,700 to have MCCI scan the minutes archive, and also begin scanning current meeting minutes at a $500 annual rate, with charges of $1 per page scanned and a 35-cent storage fee per page.

Once the minutes are scanned, they would be available for viewing at www.donaldsonville-la.gov.

Shooting for the video tour has been completed and the video is expected to be ready in a couple of months.
