JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - Hinds County Republican Party Chairman Pete Perry was stopped in Leake County on Saturday night and charged with driving under the influence.

The Leake County Sheriff’s Department confirms Perry was stopped by Carthage police about 8:30 p.m. He was released on bond from the county jail at 10:59 p.m.

Perry lives in Jackson. He is from Leake County.
