LOS ANGELES (AP) - Authorities say a fire that heavily damaged an office and classrooms at a Los Angeles church was set intentionally.

City fire spokesman Erik Scott says an arson task force is investigating the blaze that broke out shortly after midnight Wednesday on the property of St. Mark’s Presbyterian Church in Van Nuys and was put out about 20 minutes later.

There were no reported injuries and no damages to the church.

Scott says a task force that includes investigators from the city fire and police departments and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives is investigating, as they do whenever there is a fire at a place of worship that appears to have been arson.
