COLOGNE, Germany (AP) - Promoted Bundesliga side Cologne has signed Japan striker Yuya Osako from second-division 1860 Munich.

Cologne says on its website that the 24-year-old Osako will sign a contract through June 2017 subject to a medical. Both sides agreed not to disclose the transfer fee.

Osako joined Munich from Japanese side Kashima Antlers last January. Over 15 games in half a season he scored six goals and set up three more.

He is part of Japan’s World Cup squad, having scored three goals in eight games so far for the national team.
