AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - The Wall Lady Hawks pulled off a startling upset Saturday by upending five-time defending champion Brock 48-44 in the UIL Class 2A state basketball final.

Wall (35-4) recorded five blocked shots, forced 14 turnovers and had a 24-22 rebounding advantage. Brock (35-3) took more shots from beyond the three-point line, 21, than inside, 15.

Maddi Chitsey scored 21 points and sister Bobbi Chitsey added 12 with six rebounds as the Lady Hawks built a 20-15 halftime lead and never trailed in the second half.

Wall used a tenacious matchup zone to deny Brock inside scoring opportunities but the Lady Eagles stayed close by connecting on seven three-pointers.

Rachel Harrell led Brock’s offense with 15 points and five rebounds while Rachel Williams added 10 points.
