ANAHEIM, Calif. (AP) - A woman’s body that may have been dumped in a garbage bin has been found at an Orange County trash sorting facility.

Anaheim police Lt. Tim Schmidt said a worker found the body on a conveyor belt at the Republic Services plant around 10:30 a.m. Friday.

Schmidt said the woman was believed to be between 20 and 40 years old. He said investigators were having difficulty identifying the woman because her body was covered by dust and debris.

The Orange County Register reports (http://bit.ly/1o30S1Q) the body was discovered on a belt where recyclables are sorted from trash and yard waste.

There’s no immediate word on the cause of death but a homicide investigation is underway.
