SEARCY, Ark. (AP) - Harding University took advantage of outstanding pitching from three hurlers to take the second of two games of a Great American Conference doubleheader from No. 3 Southern Arkansas.

The Muleriders won Friday night’s opener 4-2, but the Bisons came back to take the second game by the same score.

Harding is now 15-8 overall and 7-4 in the GAC. The Bisons are tied with Southwestern Oklahoma for third place in the conference standings. Southern Arkansas is 21-5 overall and 10-4 in conference, good for second place.

The victory for Harding was its third in the last four years over a top-5 team. Last season, Harding defeated No. 1 Delta State 12-2 in Searcy, and in 2011 the Bisons defeated No. 3 West Florida 6-2 at the Gulf South Conference Tournament.
