EMPORIA, Kan. (AP) - Gabriel Spresser sank five 3-pointers to total 23 points and Carly Heim added 18 as Hoxie rolled past Valley Heights for its 73rd straight win, 71-51 on Saturday to claim a third-straight Kansas Class 1A-1 girls state title.

Hoxie (26-0) jumped out to a 26-11 advantage after the first quarter, putting together a 36-6 run to push that lead to 25 points early in the second.

The Indians shot 48 percent from the field, including 7 of 10 beyond the arc (5-6 in first half). Natasha Allmer chipped in 12 points with eight rebounds and Heim had six boards and five assists.

Valley Heights (24-2) went 19 of 41 from the field (46.3 percent), but committed 14 turnovers. Brandi Jo Roepke led the Mustangs with 16 points, Sidney Blackburn had 13 and Lesley Frohberg added 12.
