TULSA, Okla. (AP) - Shane Olden had 20 points and nine rebounds to help Tulsa Union defeat Putnam City West 72-64 in the Class 6A boys championship game Saturday night at the Mabee Center.
Olden made just four field goals, but he made 12 of 16 free throws for the Redskins, who won their second title in three years. Carson Meier scored 16 points and Jeff Mead had 14 points, six rebounds and five blocks for Union.
Omega Harris scored 25 points for Putnam City West. He made 4 of 8 3-pointers and had four steals. Eshon Hubbard and Stephen Edwards each scored 10 points for the Patriots, but they combined to make just 5 of 20 shots.
Union led 34-28 at halftime, then shot 74 percent from the field in the second half to remain in control. The Redskins outrebounded West 38-29 to offset their 17 turnovers.
