MINOT, N.D. (AP) - Mr. Basketball Tanner Kretchman scored a game-high 32 points to lead Fargo Davies to a 62-55 win over Bismarck St. Mary’s in the championship game of the North Dakota Class A boys basketball tournament Saturday.

Kretchman had 24 points in the second half to give Davies its first title in just its fourth year as a program.

Fargo Davies (23-2) led 23-22 at the break, despite the Eagles shooting 35 percent from the field. Andrew Kozlowski had 16 points for the Eagles, nine in the second half. He and Kretchman added six rebounds apiece.

The Eagles finished the season on a 15-game winning streak.

Darius Sparks led the Saints (20-5) with 21 points and six rebounds. Mr. Basketball finalist Ben Weisbeck scored 15 points, while shooting 50 percent from the field. He also grabbed 13 rebounds. Grant Dvorak added seven points for the Saints off the bench.
