HILTON HEAD, S.C. (AP) - The dredging of marinas and waterways at Sea Pines Resort has ended, just ahead of the busiest season.

The Island Packet reported (http://bit.ly/1nuS0VU) that the reason includes the PGA Tour event, the RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing, which will be held April 14-20.

Sea Pines’ director of recreation and marine operations, Rob Bender, says Harbor Town Yacht Basin was turning away boats longer than 60 feet or 70 feet. He says it can once again accommodate large boats at low tide.

The contractor finished unclogging Braddock Cove creek March 9, including Gull Point and South Beach marinas. Dredging at Harbour Town Yacht Basin finished in January.

Project manager Larry Setzler of GEL Engineering says inspectors will spend the next few days reviewing their survey of the waterway.
