ST. LOUIS (AP) - Forget digging out quarters and dimes. In parts of St. Louis, you can pay to park with your smartphone.

The St. Louis Post-Dispatch (http://bit.ly/1lKCNeU ) reports that the city is testing the smartphone applications Parkmobile and Passport Parking in parts of downtown and in the Central West End.

The applications are available for iPhone and Android. Both allow people to pay to park through their cellphones, rather than placing coins into a meter.
