NEW HAVEN, Conn. (AP) - Twenty people have been arrested in an operation targeting sex offenders in the New Haven area for violations including failure to register.
The U.S. Marshals Service and New Haven police were involved in Thursday’s operation.
A total of about 40 people were sought on arrest warrants from New Haven, West Haven, Waterbury and Connecticut State Police.
Most of the 20 people arrested were wanted for failure to register as sex offenders but others were wanted for parole violations or sex assault charges.
Authorities say it was the third such operation involving the marshals and New Haven police since 2011.
