HAZELWOOD, Mo. (AP) - Police say a 25-year-old bank robbery suspect who shot himself in the head following a police chase has died.

The robbery happened Wednesday at a U.S. Bank branch on North Highway 67 in the St. Louis County town of Florissant. A chase that led to nearby Hazelwood ended when the car crashed into a concrete guardrail. The man in the car shot himself in the head as police approached.

Florissant police identified the shooting victim on Thursday as 25-year-old Tye Kaufman.
