INDIANAPOLIS (AP) - The Indianapolis Zoo's new orangutan center will feature an atrium with a 50-foot ceiling and a trail for the apes that will reach 80 feet above ground and be seen from various points in the city.

The zoo gave the news media a sneak peak Thursday of the $26 million exhibit space that's larger than two NFL football fields and is scheduled to open Memorial Day weekend.

The Indianapolis Star reports (http://indy.st/1hIOErg ) the center has two separate heating and cooling systems that will keep the orangutans and their human visitors comfortable year-round. The eight orangutans housed there might prefer a higher temperate in the summer and more humidity in the winter.
