DRUMWRIGHT, Okla. (AP) - More than 1,000 people from across the country came to Drumwright to bid on a historic winery and its contents.

KOTV reports (http://bit.ly/1laLP7P ) the Tidal School and all of its property, intellectual property and equipment were auctioned on Friday. The Tidal School was built around 1915 by John D. Rockefeller to serve the educational needs of the local workforce and later acquired by J. Paul Getty. The 8,000-square-foot building has been restored and transformed into a winery and vineyard just off Route 66.

The building was purchased for $168,000 by Toni and Carl Osterhout, who say they grew up in the area and the building has special significance to them.

The Drumwright couple say they don’t have plans to make a lot of changes, just to preserve the historic building.
