NEW YORK (AP) - The U.S. has been chosen to host the men’s and women’s FIBA Americas under-18 championships this summer at USA Basketball’s training center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

The top four teams in each tournament will qualify for the 2015 FIBA under-19 world championships. The under-18 championships are held every two years, and the American men and women won in 2012.

Florida’s Billy Donovan will coach the U.S. men. Three-time Olympic gold medalist Dawn Staley, now the coach of South Carolina, will lead the women.

The men’s tournament is June 20-24 and the women’s event is Aug. 6-10.
