AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Braden Eggleston had 20 points and 10 rebounds and Amarillo jumped out to a big lead and held on late the fourth quarter for a 60-46 win over Schertz Clemens in the Class 4A semifinals Thursday night.

Amarillo led by 24 in the third quarter, only to see Schertz Clemens rally with a 20-5 run to cut the deficit under 10 in the fourth before fading in the final minutes.

John Hood added 15 points for Amarillo (28-5), which advanced to the championship in its first state tournament since 1986. Amarillo won its only state title that year, beating Dallas Kimball, which will be Saturday’s opponent in the title game.

Sam Kearns scored 13 and Cayne Edwards scored 11 for Schertz Clemens (33-5).
