AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Jawun Evans scored 23 points and D'Angelo Allen blocked a potential game-tying shot with 20 seconds left Thursday night to send Dallas Kimball back into the Class 4A final with a 60-56 win over Beaumont Central.

Allen’s block on a shot by Central’s Michael Jacquet was Allen’s fifth of the game, and led to Xavier Johnson’s layup with 11 seconds to play for the final points.

Evans scored 21 in the first half. Allen and Dondre Carter each scored 11 for Kimball (24-7), which advanced to its fourth consecutive state final. Kimball won championships in 2010 and 2011.

Nigal Pearson scored 23 for Beaumont Central (31-5), which missed three shots to tie in the final 2:45, including a blown layup on a 3-on-1 breakaway.
