GRAND FORKS, N.D. (AP) - Taylor Krenz had 26 points and Zack Schmidt added 21 as Flasher beat New Town 66-59 Saturday in the seventh-place game at the North Dakota Class B boys basketball tournament.
Krenz had five of the Lions’ six 3-pointers and made 11 of 12 free throws. Brandon Braun had nine points and 17 rebounds, but the Bulldogs (21-6) were out boarded by New Town 42-25.
Wayne Fox led New Town (20-5) with 17 points. Joe Baker had 14 and Daryl Grady and Elijah Grady added 10 points and 10 rebounds apiece.
New Town had more field goals (25-20) and the same number of 3-pointers (6), but the Eagles were outscored by 17 at the line. Flasher was 20-for-28, while New Town went 3-for-6.
