BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - Montana State women’s basketball coach Tricia Binford has named Nate Harris as an assistant.

Harris has been an assistant women’s basketball coach at MSU Billings for the past three seasons, helping the Yellowjackets to a 25-8 record and an NCAA Division II Sweet 16 appearance this winter.

Binford says she’s thrilled to have a Montana native who has such enthusiasm for the game to join the program.

Harris is a native of Ronan. He played basketball at Montana Tech, graduating in 2007 with a bachelor’s degree in math. He began his coaching career at Tech and served as interim head coach in the spring of 2010. He also has been an assistant at Fresno Pacific in Fresno, California.

Harris begins his job at Montana State at the end of May.
