OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin has announced a series of initiatives geared to help people prepare for severe weather.

Fallin announced the initiatives during a news conference Thursday at the state Capitol. Among the initiatives are a series of public service announcements featuring Fallin that will be broadcast on TV and radio in English and Spanish and a new public-private partnership.

As part of the new partnership, an advertising firm has agreed to provide space for severe weather alerts and information on digital billboards throughout Oklahoma City and Tulsa.

A task force on weather safety has also announced a set of tornado safety guidelines.
