Thirty criminal justice students from a Baltimore-area university were robbed at gunpoint while traveling on a tour bus in South Africa, officials at Stevenson University said Monday.

Four gunmen stormed the students’ bus in Pretoria on Sunday, stealing cash and passports, The Associated Press reported.

No one was injured during the robbery, but the students will still return to the United States early as a precaution.

Former Baltimore Police Commissioner Frederick Bealefeld, who is a faculty member chaperoning the trip, said students “remained calm and focused despite the pressure and fear.”
