JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (AP) - Authorities in western Pennsylvania say a man accused of having killed a mother shortly before Mother’s Day told investigators that the shooting followed an argument.

Twenty-five-year-old Kyle Rodgers is charged in Cambria County in the shooting death of 20-year-old Linsey Wolfe late Saturday night in Dale.

The (Johnstown) Tribune-Democrat (http://bit.ly/1iN7T6n ) reports that authorities allege that police found Rodgers standing over the victim’s body, and he “said he shot Wolfe and that he was sorry.”

Investigators said the couple argued and Rodgers took a handgun from underneath a pillow on the bed and went downstairs, and Wolfe pushed him and the gun discharged. Officials said a child was present but wasn’t injured.

Rodgers is charged with criminal homicide and aggravated assault. His attorney didn’t immediately return a message seeking comment.
