KALISPELL, Mont. (AP) - U.S. Sen. John Walsh is proposing a bill that would keep public lands open when the federal government shuts down.
Last year’s partial government shutdown over the federal budget closed Glacier and Yellowstone national parks, along with Bureau of Land Management lands and U.S. Forest Service facilities and services.
It would cover national parks, wildlife refuges, forests, BLM land and other public lands.
