One heroic kitty is taking the Internet by storm after saving a 4-year-old California boy who was viciously attacked by a neighbor’s dog on Tuesday.

Erica Triantafilo’s son was playing in the driveway of their Bakersfield home when home security camera footage shows the neighbor’s dog come around the side of a parked car and sneak up behind the boy, pulling him off his bike, a local NBC affiliate reported.

That’s when the family’s cat comes out of nowhere and charges into the dog, twice, before scaring it away.

The mother is shown running to her son’s aid. She told the station that she tried to chase the dog away, and it bit her, too.

The boy was taken to the hospital and had to get 10 stitches.

The dog was reportedly still aggressive when it was picked up by animal control, and the decision has been made to put it down.

The story has seemingly touched the hearts of cat-loving Americans. A YouTube clip of the incident had reached nearly 30,000 views within just a few hours of it being published.
