OMAHA, Neb. (AP) - Omaha moviegoers will get the chance to see “A Long Way Off” nearly a month before its national release when the Christian-themed movie premieres on Friday.

The movie is a modern adaptation of the biblical story of the prodigal son.

Omaha’s Village Pointe theater was chosen to host the movie’s premiere at 7 p.m. Friday because producers decided the city was a good fit for the religious movie. And two Omaha radio personalities - Andy Greenberg and Karen Sokolof Javitch - appear in the movie and will host the premiere.

The movie will also be screened Friday at a church in Milton, Florida, and at a church in Syracuse, New York.

The film is slated for national release in up to 250 theaters on June 15.
