PROVO, Utah (AP) - A high school science teacher in Provo accused of sexually abusing a female student has pleaded not guilty.

The Daily Herald of Provo (http://bit.ly/1jjWBI5 ) reports that 54-year-old Donald Bills on Thursday also waived his right to a preliminary hearing. That means the case is headed to trial, which a judge hopes to hold in September.

Bills was arrested in January after police say he acknowledged having a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old girl.

He is charged with one count of sodomy, three counts of object rape and two counts of forcible sexual abuse.

Provo City School District spokesman Caleb Price says Bills no longer works in the district. He had previously been placed on leave. Bills had been a teacher at Provo High School for 18 years.
