While Hollywood may have come finally to its senses with the realization that support of Shariah law is bad for the bottom line nationally and internationally, I continue to be appalled that a number of its luminaries and others in the entertainment industry have indulged in anti-Israel rhetoric and support the Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions movement against the state of Israel (“Hooray for Hollywood,” Commentary, May 14).

Surely the suppression of human rights, the brutal persecution of non-Muslim minorities and the mistreatment of women should have convinced these entertainers to look unfavorably on the Muslim nations that use such practices. For those who support anti-Israel rhetoric and the sanctions movement, there should be universal condemnation from Hollywood. So far, that has been lacking, with the exception of a few brave individuals.
