LEDYARD, Conn. (AP) - Connecticut state police are planning to conduct a new search of a field in Ledyard where a man was found slain more than eight years ago.

State police say their detectives will be joined by New Haven police and FBI agents Wednesday as they investigate the 2006 slaying of Anthony Hamlin.

Hamlin’s body was found face down in the field on Jan. 28, 2006.

State police Lt. J. Paul Vance said he could not what prompted the decision to carry out a new search.

A $50,000 reward has been offered for information leading to an arrest in the case.
